ESET security review

ESET’s suite gives you the best value-for-money. Its malware detection rate comes close to perfect, and the suite packs a variety of other features with a tiny footprint. The Android package has an anti-theft function to help you locate your lost phone. The premium version comes with parental controls, a secure browser, and a passcode manager. The network protection features are also excellent, including the option of a firewall as well as to check your home devices for security issues.

SysInspector is one of the most impressive tools. It creates a snapshot and highlights important Registry entries and running processes. It isn’t easy for novices. If, however, you are familiar with extended task managers like those in Sysinternals the process explorer, you’ll feel at ease.

Another great feature is the ability to schedule scans for on-demand. This is an excellent alternative to real-time security as it’s quick and easy to use. It’s just a shame that ESET doesn’t group this with other scheduling tasks and its UI makes it a bit difficult to locate than its data repository software in online deals rivals.

Other notable features include a powerful form filler for online banking, a powerful spam filter that scores the best scores in our tests, and a efficient password manager that is simple to use. The password manager is available only in the premium version and requires an ESET account in order to use, performs as well as many standalone solutions.
